Truck Driver

 

Responsibilities:

·         Operate and drive articulated trucks (AZ trucks) to transport goods and materials over long distances.

·         Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to the specified destination.

·         Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure that it is in proper working condition.

·         Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil, tires, brakes, and other essential systems.

·         Maintain accurate records of driving hours, distances traveled, and deliveries made.

·         Complete logbooks and other required documentation in compliance with regulations.

·         Adhere to traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies.

·         Comply with border crossing procedures and international transportation regulations.

·         Communicate effectively with dispatchers, other drivers, and transportation personnel.

·         Report any incidents, accidents, or issues to the appropriate authorities and supervisors.

·         Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when required.

·         Ensure that the cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.

·         Provide excellent customer service, especially when interacting with clients or receivers during deliveries.

·         Be prepared to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·         Adjust to changes in schedules or routes as needed.

 

Qualifications:

·         1+ years’ AZ driving experience

·         Valid driver’s licence (AZ/Class 1)

·         Experience in operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

·         Experience in national transportation/travel experience

·         Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience

·         Professional attitude

·         FAST card preferred

·         Proper border documentation and knowledge in accident/incident reports; bill of lading; dangerous goods occurrence reports; driver logbook; inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); maintenance and repair reports; trans-border documentation; trip reports

 

Working Conditions:

·         On the road job; frequent travel required

Position Type:

Salary – $24.50~$25.50 (CAD) per hour
