Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Has an understanding and displays proper handling of food, equipment and utensils

·         Prepares food and cooks complete meals according to chef’s specification and recipes for quality, quantity, taste and presentation

·         Prepares daily items according to instructions received by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef

·         Assist Chef de Partie with keeping the station clean and organized. Also takes part in daily scheduled cleaning duties

·         Reports any equipment/utensil malfunctions to Chef de Partie or Sous Chef for safety concerns

·         Helps to see that food products both in a raw state and finished are rotated

·         Will assist with moving food products and supplies between various outlets/kitchens and storage areas when required

·         Follows and enforces the hygiene and safety standards set by the Public Health Department and the company

·         Will be in correct uniform as set by the Corporate Chef and DRC. When participating in an offsite catering event will also be in proper uniform and conduct themselves with professionalism

 

Requirements:

·         3+ years’ experience working in high-volume commercial kitchen environment

·         Completion of secondary school

Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time

·         Able to work under pressure, produce results, handle numerous tasks at once

·         Team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

·         Possess an interest in food preparation and working in customer service

·         Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations

·         Able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekend

 

Working Conditions:

·         Kitchen environment – noisy, high temperatures, etc.

·         Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 80lbs

·         Standing and walking required

·         Must be flexible to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Position Type:

Permanent, Full-Time, 30 hours/week

Salary $26.00 (CAD) per hour
