Job Title

Sous Chef

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Assist head chef in planning, directing, and supervising food preparation and cooking activities of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff

·         Assist head chef in planning menus and ensuring the quality standard of food and service

·         Responsible for the preparation of all menu items and daily specials

·         Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operation

·         Train cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant

·         Maintain work location clean and safe and follow food safety procedure

·         Ensure proper stocking of food items and fills all necessary paperwork as needed

·         Perform other duties as assigned by head chef

 

Requirements

·         3+ year experience working in a commercial kitchen

·         Completion of culinary training or equivalent experience

·         Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items and standing for long periods of time

·         Able to work under pressure, produce results, handle numerous tasks at once

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Team player, able to work in close conditions with several other people

·         Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations

·         Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, night and weekend

POSITION TYPE

·         Permanent, Full-Time, 30~ 44 hours/week

·         In person

·         Wage – $26.50~$30.00 per hour, to be negotiated

·         Incremental raises based on performance available at company’s discretion

·         Bonus available at company’s discretion

·         SUPPLEMENT PAY TYPE | We work as a team and pool tips
