POSITION SUMMARY

 

Line Cook – As a Line Cook in our restaurant, your primary responsibility will be the precise preparation of both cold and hot food items. Your dedication to upholding food safety and quality standards is crucial in preventing cross-contamination. You will operate various kitchen equipment, including ovens and hot prep tools, to ensure the correct time and temperature for all hot and cooked dishes. Additionally, proficiency in handling cold prep equipment, such as the fit-wash and robot coupe, is essential. Maintaining the cleanliness and food safety of dishes and prep stations will be a core aspect of your role. Your contributions to our team will ensure the

consistent delivery of high-quality culinary creations.

 

Principal accountabilities:

·         Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

·         Maintain clean, food-safe dish and prep stations throughout shift;

·         Set up and break down oven station, maintain clean and organized hot prep zone and equipment;

·         Manage communication between different departments and level of employees;

·         Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing menu and ingredients;

·         Other responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

 

Prep Cook – The successful incumbent will play a crucial role in the kitchen, ensuring that all ingredients are prepared and ready for service. Prep Cook will be responsible for a range of essential tasks to support the seamless operation of the kitchen during service hours.

 

Principal accountabilities:

·         Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

·         Maintain clean, food-safe dish and prep stations throughout shift;

·         Assist in cooking and preparing basic components of dishes (e.g., sauces, dressings) under the guidance of senior kitchen team members;

·         Manage communication between different departments and level of employees;

·         Learn and maintain knowledge of our changing menu and ingredients;

·         Other responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

·         Food, Restaurant, and/or Team experience;

·         Knowledge of proper food safety handling;

·         Being comfortable working in fast-paced environment with kitchen and food prep equipment;

·         A team player with a positive can-do attitude;

·         Strong communication skills;

·         Accountability in upholding company standards and policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         High school or equivalent required

·         Formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred

·         Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment

·         Experience in a culinary leadership role preferred

·         Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.

·         Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions

·         Must have experience calculating figures and amounts and performing mathematical functions to meet the business needs

·         Food Handlers certificate is an asset.
