Are you passionate about supporting community members and enhancing social development? K’ómoks First Nation is seeking a dedicated Social Development Coordinator to create and deliver impactful programs and services! This dynamic role offers you the chance to make a real difference in our community while fostering collaborative relationships with staff and departments.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and manage the annual budgets for our Social Development programs, including Income Assistance.
Determine eligibility needs and provide resource referrals to help applicants navigate available support.
Ensure timely processing of Income Assistance requisitions and maintain accuracy according to policy guidelines.
Facilitate understanding of the Social Development Program by interpreting policies and making appropriate referrals for counseling and support.
Build partnerships with employment agencies to create job opportunities for community members and assist clients with job referrals.
Coordinate the Assisted Living Program, ensuring support services align with budget and policy requirements.
Establish and engage a Child, Youth and Family Committee to shape services through community input and research.
Who We’re Looking For:
If you possess strong leadership skills and thrive in a team environment, we want to hear from you! Ideal candidates will have post-secondary education in Social Work or Human Services, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering social service programs. You should be well-versed in budget management and skilled in building respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders. Cultural sensitivity and knowledge of the Indigenous governance landscape in BC are essential.
