Small Engine Mechanic

PSI Concrete Pumping is a family owned and operated business located in Abbotsford, B.C. offering our services in Greater Vancouver, throughout the Fraser Valley and surrounding areas. We provide concrete pumping and placing and finishing services for residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
We are currently seeking to hire several small engine mechanics in permanent, full time positions, to start as soon as possible for our many upcoming projects. You will be based out of Abbotsford, BC, and our projects are throughout the Greater Vancouver urban area. Our starting wage is $28.00/hour based upon a 40 hour work week. You should be willing to be flexible with shift work, on-call and willing to work overtime. Hours can be morning, day, evening, night as well as weekends. You must speak English. You should have completed high school or equivalent and have between 1year to less than 2 years experience.
Specifically you will inspect and test engines and motors to diagnose and isolate faults; adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment; test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance; perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment; review work orders and discuss work with your supervisor. You will be working with diesel and gasoline powered equipment. You should have steel toed safety boots and a valid driver’s license.
The work can be physically demanding including handling heavy loads and bending, crouching, kneeling. You should have attention to detail, good manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination. Work sites can be noisy and dusty. You should be a team player who is organized, reliable and has excellent oral communication. You will be working in a fast paced environment.
