Skilled Construction Labourer

The position is for a skilled Construction Labourer; it is a full-time/permanent position of 30-40 hours per week at $25.00 per hour. Location of work is at 431 Harbour Rd., Port Mellon, BC V0N 1V2.  Language use is English.

As a member of the production team, you will have the opportunity to provide direct, hands-on contribution to the production of innovative, sustainable building systems. We will expect you to ensure that every production component of the building system is completed as required to the specifications provided and in a timely manner.

Experience with Lean Construction and 5S best practices are a big plus, but not a requirement. You are willing to commit long-term to learning and growing with the company.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Assist wall framing team in construction of exterior and interior walls
  2. Assist building envelope and siding lead in completing siding and building envelope details
  3. Assist floor framing and assembly lead
  4. Assist Completion Team Lead with interior finishing in factory or at site
  5. Participate in building movement, shipping , and landing
  6. Facility cleanliness, receiving of materials shipments

You have proven experience with hand and power tools including framing nailers.

Work Environment
Production/Factory area is a combination of dusty, outdoors/indoors, noisy, hot/cold, confined spaces and non-smoking; in a rural and very remote location.

Work conditions are in a fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling; standing for extended periods; use of ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts; attention to detail; work is physically demanding and under pressure.
