Policy Analyst

Are you passionate about using your research and analytical skills to influence positive changes in health care? The Home and Community Care Branch at the Ministry of Health seeks your expertise to drive insightful policy research and analysis. In this vital role, you will contribute significantly to the development of policies and programs that address the home and community care needs of people of all ages.

The Home and Community Care Branch is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering legislation, regulations, policies, programs, and provincial initiatives directed to meeting the home and community care needs of all Ontarians.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
·         Lead, conduct, and participate in policy research and analysis in support of health strategy, policy, standards, regulation and legislation development, and address a range of strategic health system issues in accordance with stewardship principles
·         Prepare reports, discussion papers, presentations, briefing notes and correspondence
·         Develop and support partnerships with key health system stakeholders

Policy Expertise and Technical Knowledge
·         You have knowledge of policy and legislative processes
·         You have knowledge of program development and implementation
·         You have experience in using policy and research tools, methods and techniques
Research, Evaluation and Analytical Skills
·         You can contribute to the development of innovative programs, implementation plans and standards/guidelines
·         You demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity and a high degree of political acuity
·         You can assess the effectiveness of policies/programs against Ministry initiatives and goals
·         You can interpret and apply policy, procedures and legislation
Relationship Management and Facilitation Skills
·         You have expertise in creating and managing stakeholder relationships
·         You can consult and provide appropriate advice on policies, standards and programs to stakeholders
Planning and Organizational Skills
·         You can plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Communication Skills
·         You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports using standard computer software
·         You can create, lead and present research findings to senior management
Salary Range: $66,484 – $92,950 Per Year
