Lubrication Technician – Automotive Service and Repair

We are conveniently located at the corner of busy 17th Avenue and 52nd Street S.E. We are serviced by Calgary Transit (including MAX purple) and have plenty of free parking.
We have opportunities for lubrication technicians (automotive service and repair), immediately, starting as soon as possible. We are seeking to fill a full time, permanent position. Candidates should be prepared to work morning, day, weekend, and shift work. Candidates should be able to work overtime, work flexible hours as well as being ‘on-call’. We want to hire someone who is flexible and a team player.
Compensation is $20.25/hour. This is full time work at 35 hours per week.
Applicants must have some experience as lubrication technician or other related automotive work (between one to seven months). Candidates must have good English skills as they must be able to communicate with shop supervisor and follow direction accurately. Candidates should have at least some high school but we can talk. The candidate will also need to have steel-toed boots for the job.
The skills required for this position include: change engine oil and lubricate running gears or moving parts of automobile, trucks or heavy equipment, add or replace hydraulic and transmission fluids, replace oil, air and fuel filters on motor vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment, assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed.
You should have attention to detail with good hand-eye co-ordination. You will need good manual dexterity. The job can be physically demanding (you should be able to lift up to 23KG/50lbs) and you may be standing for extended periods and bending, crouching and kneeling. Work location is in the Calgary urban area.
The work sites are sometimes noisy, dusty and sometimes there are odours.
You should be reliable and demonstrate flexibility as well as being a team player.
