We at Sarli Transport Ltd. located at #327 – 15315-66 Ave, Surrey BC, V3S 1A2 are looking to hire 2 Long- haul truck drivers (NOC Code 73300)
Transport truck drivers operate heavy trucks to transport goods and materials over urban, interurban, provincial and international routes. This unit group also includes drivers of special purpose trucks and shunters who move trailers to and from loading docks within trucking yards or lots.
Long Haul truck Drivers shall be required to perform following Job Duties:
Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailor, long-combination vehicle and straight-body trucks weighing over 4500 kg to transport goods and materials over long distances.
Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
Perform brake adjustments.
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
Perform preventive maintenance.
Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
Documentation knowledge
Driver logbook
Communication systems experience
Citizens band (CB) radio
Transportation/travel information
Willing to travel cross-border.
Willing to travel for extended periods.
Willing to travel overnight.
Wage Offered: $ 28.85 Per Hour for 40 Hours Per week 10 Days Paid Vacation
Employment Requirements
Completion of secondary school is usually required.
On-the-job-training is provided.
Completion of an accredited driver training course of up to three months duration is an asset.
A Class 1 or A license is required to drive long combination vehicles.
Air brake endorsement (Z) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
Additional licensing endorsement or certification may be required to drive articulated trucks.
