We are seeking Line cooks for our team. When you bring your natural talents and passion for food, we welcome you into our family.

You are Responsible for preparing food for the restaurant and all banquet functions. You must have a high standard of quality control for food preparation and ensure all food sent out is of the highest quality. You hard work pays off when a dish that you’ve thoughtfully prepare has guests raving and anxious to return.

·        Location: Delta Hotels by Marriott Grande Prairie Airport, 11700 – 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB, T8W0C7.

·        Salary/Wages – $16.50/ hour (increments available as per service within the company)

·        6 vacancies

·        Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time; 32 to 40 hours / week

·        Start date:  July 2021

·        Benefits: Group insurance benefits, 50% discount on duty meal, employee hotel stay discounts.

Experience:  1 to 2 years of experience

Skills & Requirements

Always start shift 10 minutes early to be updated on days’ work

Check with the Chef /Sous Chef on arrival of daily specials offered in the dining room.

Verify with the Chef/Sous Chef which duties need to be done in priority

Responsible to inform the Chef /Sous Chef of any items not available or questionable

Preparing any course of meals as per the recipes provided

Ensure that junior cooks/prep cooks have cleaned fridges and labeled products properly.

Responsible for closing kitchen duties (i.e.  equipment are turned off, products are stored in the refrigerators or freezers, store rooms are locked, etc.)

Responsible to ensure the cleanliness of kitchen, work station, and the fridges

Verify that the Assistant or junior cooks have placed plates, bowls, etc. in warmer and that the warmer is on

Communicate any maintenance problems or deficiencies to your supervisor or the Maintenance department

Check your schedule before leaving to ensure you know when you’re working

Be aware of and adhere to all policies stated in the employee handbook

Required to work in a safe manner and abide by the hotel’s health & safety policy

Assist in any other areas when called upon

Perform all other duties as requested by the Chef/Sous Chef

Credentials: Food Safety Certificate (can be obtained within two weeks of commencing employment)
