Kitchen Supervisor (NOC 6311)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Kitchen Supervisor reports to the Kitchen Manager and oversees the general duties of the kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved for all our guests. This position will ensure that menu items are prepared in a proper form and helps to ensure that the kitchen performs in a safe and professional manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Food Safe Certification or equivalent
*WHMIS
*Criminal Background Check
*Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role in a commercial kitchen

RESPONSIBILITIES
*Receive, store and prepare all food products according to Neighbourhood Inn’s specifications and practices.
*Prepare and portion dishes to workplace standards.
*Ensure all products received meet specifications, that the invoicing is correct in respect to the quantity, quality and prices and that the products are properly labelled and stored.
*Maintain control over prescribed food, labour cost, and other kitchen-related operating expenses.
*Ensure that all foods are prepared and properly served according to standards.
*Oversee staffing, ongoing training, supervision and development of the kitchen staff.

REQUIREMENTS AND ABILITIES
*Legally authorized to work in Canada
*Previous experience in a similar role
*Completion of high school preferred
*Fluent in English (written and oral) required
*Possess physical stamina and the ability to multi-task
*Ability to work a variety of shifts, including early morning openings, closing, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
*Clear security clearance required upon offer of employment
*Possess sensational customer service philosophy
*Highly organized, results-oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.

COMPENSATION
*$20.00 per/hour
*Group benefits plan
