Junior Inside Sales Representative

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Inside Sales Representative knowledgeable in desktop/laptop solutions to join our Operations team. As a Junior Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations team and workflow. This role requires a strong attention to detail, understanding of IT hardware and software, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively with a fast-paced team.

This opportunity is open to co-op students, interns, and recent graduates looking to gain valuable hands-on experience — we offer full training and coaching to support your growth and ensure you succeed in your role.

Responsibilities / Activities

  • Work closely with the Operations team and other departments to determine solutions which best meet client needs:
    • Proactively request feedback for quote/project completion;
    • Assist when required for background information;
    • Assist when required for deal registration, manufacture and rebate programs.
  • Acquiring and leveraging Industry Technical knowledge:
    • Develop ability to understand basic concepts of networks, servers, storage, backup;
    • Develop ability to configure systems including desktops/workstations, servers, etc.;
    • Develop ability to leverage manufacture tools for configurations.
  • Support quote preparation for hardware/software/service:
  • Verify technical configuration with Tech team or distribution;
  • Leverage vendor registration discounts and apply;
  • Shop for best value / service from distribution;
  • Prepare quote accurately as per internal procedures and Sales requests;
  • Occasionally provide to client if directed by Sales;
  • Ensure all support and services are accurately reflected on;
  • Ensure proper taxes/info/special instructions on quotation based off standard procedures.
  • Support processing customer purchase orders:
    • Ensure all data is correctly reflected at all stages on purchase orders when working with vendors;
    • Work with client as needed for verification, etc. for smooth/efficient delivery.
  • Proactive order tracking and escalation:
    • Work with team when required to ensure all agreed to dates are met;
    • Provide shipment confirmations and tracking information to customers as required;
    • Engage outside help if required;
  • Learn computer hardware and software related products as required.
  • Client invoicing via internal policy or procurement to pay system.
  • Vendor bill matching and working with controller to ensure cost of goods accuracy.
  • Returns and credit.
  • Paper documentation system.
  • Reporting and Claims.

Skills and Attributes

  • 1-3 years related experience in office or independent work environment.
  • Knowledge of both Government and commercial IT procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government procurement policies and procedures.
  • Industry supply chain understanding and manufacturer contacts.
  • Demonstrates sales aptitude, good listener, self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail, investigative and committed to quality.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Bookkeeping knowledge is an asset.
  • Well organized with effective time and activity management skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong ability to provide outstanding customer service to both interval and external clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Strong organizational, judgement and leadership skills.
  • Quick problem-solving skills with solutions that benefit both company and customer.
  • Systems literacy and proficiency in MS Applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
  • Accounting Software experience is an asset.
  • Quick learner with acute attention to detail.
  • Strong mathematical skills and retention of data.
  • Self-confident with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Common sense and level-headedness.
  • Sense of humour.
