Giorgio JWL Inc., a gold jewelry manufacturer located in Toronto, is currently looking
for a Jewelry Polisher to work closely with the head jeweler. On-the-job training is provided.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Clean items to be polished and remove any dust or grime that might affect the polishing process
· Use polishing tools to remove imperfections, dull coatings and scratches from jewelry
· Buff the surface of the piece with increasingly fine abrasive to bring out the shine and remove uneven surfaces or fingerprints
· Clean final products
· Inspect each piece to ensure it meets the specifications and quality standards
· Clean workstation and remove scraps, dust and other by-products from the surrounding area
· Maintain and inspect tools used in the polishing process
QUALIFICATIONS
– Some secondary school education
– Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
– Precision and a good eye for detail
– Hand-eye coordination when handling delicate objects and using small tools
– Physical stamina
WORK CONDITIONS
– Permanent, full-time position
– $18.00 per hour
– 35 hours of work per week
– Overtime pay ($27.00/ hour) applies after 44 hours of work per week
