Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre (FDISC), and in collaboration with the Undergraduate Admission & Recruitment, the Indigenous Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing an extensive outreach program for the recruitment and admission of Indigenous students to Queen’s University. The Coordinator will assist with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of a strategic plan for the outreach, recruitment, and admission of Indigenous students at Queen’s. They will also be involved with the facilitation of the Indigenous Admissions Policy in coordination with Undergraduate Admission & Recruitment.
This position researches and develops plans for identifying target markets for assigned areas to meet enrollment objectives. This position plans and coordinates large recruitment events including logistics, itineraries, and budgets. This position provides advice and guidance to prospective students on programs that meet their specific professional and academic goals, the application and admission processes, and financial assistance process. This position also analyzes data and prepares reports on recruitment efforts and progress on meeting enrollment objectives.
The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work variable hours on a regular basis, including evenings and weekends. In addition, travel is an inherent part of the position. This position is subject to the Averaging and Travel Time Credit provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.

What you will do
• Researches and develops plans for identifying target markets for assigned areas to meet enrollment objectives.
• Plans and coordinates large recruitment events including logistics, itineraries, and budgets.
• Develops, prepares and delivers recruitment presentations to potential enrollees at recruitment activities, fairs, events, and other outreach opportunities.
• Engages with potential enrollees to answer questions and provide information via virtual outreach including live chat, e-mail, website applications, and in-person.
• Provides advice and guidance to prospective students on programs that meet their specific professional and academic goals, the application and admission processes, and financial assistance process.
• Analyzes data and prepares reports on recruitment efforts and progress on meeting enrollment objectives.
• Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
• Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
Required Experience
• More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
o Experience working with Indigenous groups considered an asset.
o Experience developing, coordinating and producing promotional and marketing material
considered an asset.
Required Licenses and Certifications
• G Driver’s Licence required.
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
