Faculty Research Coordinator

The Faculty of Law is nationally and internationally recognized as a leading law school with a distinguished record of outstanding research and teaching. Reporting to the Associate Dean (Research), the Faculty Research Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the Faculty of Law’s strategic research priorities. The Faculty Research Coordinator is instrumental in developing an infrastructure to support and promote the Faculty’s research excellence, impact and reputation, and ensure the Faculty’s strategic research performance goals are met. This position provides communication support for research and funding opportunities, including writing content, marketing, making social media posts, adding website content, and creating videos, podcasts, and/or newsletters. This position provides support for award nominations and/or submissions including planning, organizing, writing and reviewing, and coordinating the submission process. This position provides support for grant applications including reviewing, editing and drafting proposals, liaising with funding agencies, and identifying new grant opportunities. This position also plans and coordinates events including conferences, faculty events, and public lectures.

What you will do

  • Provides communication support for research and funding opportunities, including writing content, marketing, making social media posts, adding website content, and creating videos, podcasts and/or newsletters.
  • Provides support for award nominations and/or submissions including planning, organizing, writing and reviewing, and coordinating the submission process.
  • Provides support for grant applications including reviewing, editing and drafting proposals, liaising with funding agencies, and identifying new grant opportunities.
  • Provides administrative support including building and maintaining databases, scheduling, recording meeting minutes, monitoring, and/or ordering office supplies.
  • Plans and coordinates events including conferences, faculty events, and public lectures.
  • Performs accounting and general bookkeeping activities including cheque requisitions, invoices, deposits, journal entries, expense monitoring, procurement card reconciliation, timekeeping, reimbursements, trust account entries, and budget monitoring.
  • Coordinates the application and renewal for ethics board.
  • Acts as a resource and support person for investigators and staff on compliance rules and regulations.
  • Identifies funding/research opportunities and updates faculty at regular intervals.
  • Assists with establishment and/or renewal of research centers.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields. In law preferred.
