Duties:
· Oversee production of gelato flavours, gelato cakes, gelato pastries following specific recipes;
· Oversee kitchen and equipment maintenance;
· Coordinate all kitchen staff including pastry chefs and supervisors;
· Train staff on how to prepare various products served in the restaurant;
· Manage production scheduling, inventory and ordering;
· Provide insight and training on Italian culture and food tradition;
· Ensure health and safety in restaurant;
· Ensure quality standards are met for all product;
· Create new recipes for gelato flavours and ingredients, gelato cakes, pastries, etc;
· Oversee and prepare product for catering and special events;
· Communicate and collaborate with the front of house teams to ensure seamless and efficient production.
Qualifications: Completion of secondary school is required. The candidate must have at least 3 years of management experience in a food service or kitchen related position and more than three years of experience working with Italian pastry, gelato or related products. Knowledge of Italian culture and Italian cuisine are an asset.
