Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Child Caregiver to provide care for one child in a private household setting in Vancouver, BC. The caregiver will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and well-being of the child in a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise and care for child in employer’s residence
· Prepare and serve nutritious meals
· Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
· Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development
· Tend to the emotional well-being of the child
· Organize activities such as games, crafts, outings to provide amusement and exercise
· Discipline the child according to the methods requested by the parent
· Keep records of daily activities and health information
· Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children
· Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the parent
· Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision & housekeeping duties
Requirements:
Education:
· Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent and verifiable experience in childcare or related field is preferred.
Language:
English (spoken and written proficiency required)
Other:
· Must be flexible with work hours, reliable, and able to work independently
· CPR and First Aid certification is an asset
Work Setting:
Employer’s private home in Surrey, BC
