Job Title: Cement Finisher (NOC 73100)

Job Duties:
· Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
· Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
· Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
· Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
· Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
· Cutting expansion joints with a power saw, aligning forms to desired depth and pitch, directing the casting of concrete.
· Produce various final finishes on concrete surfaces based on job-specific requirements, using rough/fine brooms or special groove rakes.
· Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
· Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.
Job Requirements:
· Education: Completion of secondary school is usually required.
· Experience: Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program OR over three years of work experience in the trade are required.
Wage: $33.00 ~ $34.00 per hour and entitled to 4% of total wages as vacation pay.
Working hours: 30-40 hours per week
