Wage: $33.65 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

Job Description:

New Surrey Car Service is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Automobile Mechanic to join our team. As an Automobile Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and performance of our customers’ vehicles. From diagnosing complex issues to performing routine maintenance tasks, you will be an integral part of our service team.

Responsibilities:

Review work orders and collaborate with supervisors to discuss tasks.
Inspect vehicle motors during operation and conduct road tests to assess performance.
Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults in automotive systems and components.
Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of various automotive systems including fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engines and drive trains, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems.
Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer’s performance specifications.
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
Provide customers with detailed explanations of work performed, the general condition of their vehicle, and any future repair requirements.
Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required.
Completion of a recognized automotive service technician apprenticeship program or a combination of on-the-job training and college or vocational training in automotive mechanics is required.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as an automotive service technician.
Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
